THE PROFESSIONAL VOICE
As CEO and Founder of Magic Sauce Media, I provide strategic consulting on social media, viral marketing, communications and branding for global companies, executives and startups.
My international approach to new media and marketing campaigns comes from living in ten countries and visiting more than 65. I have launched companies, services and products from South Africa, Australia, Holland, Scotland, India, England, Belgium, Germany, Israel, and France.
I am also the founder and editor of We Blog the World, a global blog network dedicated to stories, voices, and content about society, business, technology and culture from around the world.
I co-founded Traveling Geeks in 2008, whose mission is to collaborate with global technology innovators and influencers in countries across the globe, cross pollinate ideas and then share that knowledge through blogging, video, podcasts, social media tools and meet-ups.
I have held advisory board positions on b5 Media, a global new media network, Cozmo Media, which taps into community to put video content in front of the right audience, Toktumi, a virtual home office VoIP phone solution, Radus, a dynamic media rich social network and content aggregator, BlogHer, the first conference and group blog dedicated to women bloggers, which now has nearly 20,000 blogs in its global network and PopTech, an innovation conference whose goal is to accelerate the positive impact of world changing people and ideas.
THE CREATIVE VOICE
I grew up in the Adirondacks in upstate New York, where I spent most of my time in canoes and ski boats, reading, writing, skiing and star gazing. Like my grandfather, more than half my soul is there despite my 25 years of globetrotting.
Fabulous karma followed me around the world for two decades as I traveled to hundreds of countries throughout SE Asia, Africa and Europe and managed to live in many of those.
I have taught English in third-world countries, promoted and sold art globally, managed international sports and political events and am working on a novel and three photo books.
I love dance, simple but fabulous graphic and architectural design, hammocks on a hot summer day, eating home grown veggies, blueberries and herbs, taking photos of people, buildings, rocks and abstract images, style that makes you stop in your tracks (think Italy and France), and basically anything on the water.
I also love what technology can create as an ‘enabler,’ and how it is being used to build communities, further economic development and spearhead innovation in other areas -- not just in the U.S. but around the world. I think it is important to realize and honor its value only in ways we cannot do effectively with or when its not possible to meet people face-to-face.
I subscribe to, among other things, to the following: Just trust yourself, then you will truly know how to live.
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832)
