DLDers On Stage: #DLD10 #munich #germany
Scroll down for a few of my favorite shots from the annual Munich-based DLD Conference in late January. On-stage, a number of topics were covered, such as disruption with Mitchell Baker, Jimmy Wales and Niklas Zennstrom, Rebranding with Claudia Gonzales, Audience Sourcing with Tim Kring and Peter Hirshberg and Solar with Nikolaus von Bomhard.
We heard about the "unthinkable" from Joshua Ramo, took in stories and images from Jonathan Harris and survey results of why humans mate from Helen Fischer.
We hit global capital, data and identity, China, intellectual ventures, marketing, fashion, link value and heard from Thomas Reuters CEO Tom Glocer.
We heard about the Internet of Things, moderated by Esther Dyson and absorbed an interactive discussion with women Cecilia Attias, Beth Brooke, Ria Hendrikx, Gabi Zedimayer, Randi Zuckerman about women, moderated by Stephanie Czerny.
We saw 11 demos from 11 creators, heard from Muhammad Yunus about a vision for 2015 and went into broadband with Thomas Alan Curran, Richard Kang, Paul Sagan, Ariel Yarnitsky, and Thomas Kunstner.
Rafat Ali moderated a dialogue with FourSquare's Dennis Crowley and we talked about the future with Frank Schatzing and Anousheh Ansari.
One of the things that is so refreshing about DLD is its global diversity mixed with a blend of a number of industries and who is leading the innovation game.
The other thing that I loved about it was its intimacy, something that many conferences quickly lose as ego sets in. And, it snowed for 3 days. Combine all that with a great beerhaus and you've got innovation, creativity, music, dialogue, mobile, energy and the arts all under one roof in a quaint Bavarian hotspot.
Below, some of the faces and talents behind the success and magic of DLD.
