On Corporate Archiving
Robert Scoble interviews Jeff Ubois on the RSS counch in the RSS Lounge at David Winer's house. Tune in here to listen to the conversation. On archiving, Jeff talks about the way to do it "right," and discusses some of the obstacles. Jeff asks, "how do you get public private partnerships to work?"
The topic is whether companies who are scanning books and other information from the world's libraries and universities are doing us a favor. Those who travel in these circles know who Jeff is, but those who do not, he is a co-chair of the Association of Moving Image Archivists' Television Interest Group and is an expert about issues in digital file preservation and archiving.
