Grassroots for Dynamic Presentations
Another new presentation at DEMO this year is a company called Grassroots - what a great name. My first thought was - how on earth did they get the domain?
FreePath is their software application designed for communicators. They note: "Digital content is not presented to us as presenters."
Their exec continues on stage: "Imagine if you could seamlessly integrate Word and Excel files or a PDF file into a presentation. Imagine being able to have video and audio at your finger tips."
You --the presenter-- have your own screen. You can build a presentation from scratch and you can choose a play list. The audience always sees what you want them to see; they have their own screen and you have your own. It cooperates with PowerPoint and integrates with all the kinds of media that PowerPoint can’t play.
It seems like its very simple to use and set up. You just drag the files into the application and they’re ready to go. You can jump to a quick time movie in between a slide or a URL that you simply dragged into the presentation/play list. The retail price on this when it hits this quarter will be $249 with an introductory offer of $100 off.
I agree that its a perfect solution for communicators - creative communicators in particular, who care about presentation style and making it a dynamic and interactive experience.
