Websourced Activity.....
More sauce in the blogosphere on resignations, fires and conflicts.
The what? Andy Beal resigns from Websourced because of differences of opinion between 'their philosophy and his,' he notes on the blog about his resignation. Apparently he was asked to remove the post. The discussion -- or rather controversy is - who actually owned the blog? (note I said owned, not owns)
From Beal:
UPDATE 2: Andy just emailed me, and said the following: "I have been asked by the management of WebSourced to remove my resignation announcement. I will not likely be posting to Search Engine Lowdown again but hope to have a new blog in the future."
The latest update here reads: Andy Beal's resignation post, quoted below has been removed from the searchenginelowdown website. I've heard from a reliable source that although Andy's name is on the whois, Websourced own that blog, they alledgedly made him give it to them, as they tried to do with Jason Dowdell, who recently resigned also, and is now being sued by Websourced. (do a search for dowdell in that doc and you'll see the relevant bits..)
Fellow SEO blogger wishes him luck here. No doubt, we'll be hearing threads over this one and hopefully learn something 'new' about crisis communications, the 'handling of internal and external blogs,' employees, behavior of, who owns what 'words and real estate on the web' and the impact that all of this has on the public.
