Fabulous Women Voices.....

Expect a series of blog posts from the BlogHer conference over the next few hours.....all live from the sessions. (in between the times I'll be running around with camera crews and editors interviewing fabulous women bloggers in the room).......

Marian stands up to comment who's very interested in multi-language blogging. She has a fabulous blog called Coming Out Colored. She writes about Africa, Asia, the Americas and speaks five languages.

Says a black woman in the crowd who has been blogging for about two years.
"I do me and cover everything I care about from my own perspective. I wrote about what I care about and am passionate about. I did my thing and I noticed......my commitment was not to link whore. I got to where I am because I was just me. I don't want my success to be attributed to another person. Hits come and go, but get yourself a readership that you care about. Readers come every single day. You don't have to play the game. Be who you are and people will take notice."

Lisa Williams stands up and says, "On my badge, I say ask me. Write on your badge, write ask me and I'll link to you by the end of the day."

Halley and Charlene talk about 'link whoring.' Halley says, "do not be worried about what number you are on the list. Do something that is so radical that its not about the list.....create your own companies. Get way beyond all lists....."

And there's one strong male voice in the room who adds:
Marc Canter jumps up (he actually waits until he's called on - what a rarity :-) and says "Create your own BlogHer 100 List and tell men to fuck off." God bless you Marc.
