MIT Technology Review: Searching For Humans
MIT Technology Review does a splash on people search, starting off with a quote from client Spock's CEO Jaideep Singh.
The Spock Challenge, a competition to design a better entity-resolution algorithm, also gets a plug. 1,400 researchers have already downloaded the data set, a group who will compete for a $50,000 prize, to be awarded in November.
While other players in this space are referenced, Spock takes the lead in the article throughout, and includes a screenshot showing a search result for saxophonist, which btw, includes Bill Clinton. Who knew?
That, the social networking aspects surrounding people search and the ability to manage your reputation online is the power behind Spock's approach vis a vis other solutions on the market today.
