Jim Coates Leaves the Chicago Tribune
Another one bites the dust in the newspaper industry. Nearly every day, I hear about another reporter I have either known or worked with leaving a paper or magazine. This time, its long-time computer reporter Jim Coates of the Chicago Tribune, who is leaving after 14 years of being in the biz....even longer at the paper itself (he joined the Tribune in 1967). He won the Raymond Clapper Award from the White House Correspondents' Association twice and the Tribune's Edward Scott Beck Award for Domestic Reporting. We will no doubt see such awards emerge for bloggers in the near future.
