Nuance to Acquire VoiceSignal
Sweet. Former client VoiceSignal to be acquired by Nuance for $295 million. VoiceSignal was backed by private equity funds Stata Venture Partners and Argonaut Private Equity.
A bunch of my former Dragon Systems pals moved there. I'm not sure how many remained through the acquisition, but if so, there's a bunch of happy engineers in Woburn Mass. this week.
Combined energies mean enhanced two forces to improve mobile search mobile messaging, mobile command and control and hopefully better speech recognition on cell phones. I can never seem to deactivate the speech on my phone and it drives me a little nuts (it isn't VoiceSignal's technology) and frankly, that's the carrier's fault, not the speech guys. Kudos to their team.
