Conde Naste's Portfolio
Conde Naste had their official Bay Area celebration for the launch of Portfolio, the new magazine that combines business, finance, technology, entertainment, art and advertising. BusinessWeek meets Vanity Fair and more.
It was refreshing to attend a schmooze event in San Francisco where laptops were not opened or encouraged and the venue (held at Jack Falstaff in SOMA) housed a large number of New York suits with creative ties, agendas and lives.
People I had not seen 'out and about' in awhile made an appearance, such as former BrandWeek's Diane Anderson, former CNBC's Cory Johnson, Craig Newmark, Wired's Chris Anderson, Dan Farber, Caryn Marooney and of course Portfolio Managing Editor Blaise Zerega, who I managed to catch up with a bit post event. A few TED pals, advertising buds and consumer marketing folks were also there -- women even wore dresses, a rarity at technology only events.
