Taxonomy Boot Camp
There is a taxonomy bootcamp on November 2-3, 2006 at the San Jose Convention Center. David Weinberger will be a keynote speaker.
It will cover how topics such as how to build a taxonomy framework, how to apply metadata and taxonomy principals, and how to manage and maintain the information in your taxonomy. For those not familiar with the principle, its a categorization scheme, which helps people better navigate the web and internal data collections, improving results from search queries.
They'll also talk about governance issues, how to work collaboratively with your content and IT teams, and how to blend social tagging and folksonomies with your taxonomy.
