Blah Blah News
I just learned that an old editorial friend has cancer................................................................
News that came my way via an IM ....tonight. IM is great for many things but this? I didn't even have a great face to give him in MSN, at least in Yahoo, I could have given him a face with energy. So meaningless in ANY electronic form, and yet I couldn't even give him a meaningful vitual hug or anything else for that matter. I choose my so-called avatar characters, even in IM environments, carefully.
I've known him for close to 15 years at least....he says "its not a secret and its okay to share," but egads, how to share news like that about him personally? I can't and won't. Not yet. I encouraged him to take a holistic approach to his treatment and yet in an IM, what the hell does this mean? I am so sold on this for a variety of 'proven reasons,' and yet so hard to get people to understand the value and how so imperative this is................
Anyway, he's dear to me and not the first person I've known (or lost) to cancer. His level has a somewhat winning formula, meaning there's treatment and never with cancer, does IT HAVE TO over, despite what docs tell us. Yet, the news of.........
He was the first reporter to introduce me to Bill Gates (yeah, about 12 years ago) and Michael Dell (maybe 10 years ago). He cares about and lives life, understands the written word and will gain my support forever. His life is FAR from over.
