Sex Still Sells Magazines
Sex continues to be the dominant language used on the cover of most fashion and consumer magazines. As I was killing time in the Guatemala City airport recently sipping a scrumptious cappuccino, I stared at the following titles in Spanish….
Men’s Helath: musculos al doble
Cosmopolitan – sexo es salud and another caption that read: 62 movidas sexuales
Conozca Mas – sexo los 12
Joy – mismo hombre major sexoooooh
Maxim – sexo-cocteles-NFL-miniautos
Of my typical industry reading list, Popular Mechanics and PC Magazine en espanol make the stands, as does PC World -- in English.
Martha Stewart Living & Wedding both sell for a wopping $10 a pop, whereas Garden Ideas & Living attract $2 more. An aged Kurt Russell smiles faintly on the English version of Cigar Aficionado.
