Brain Jams' Rent-an-Expert
Tom Foremski writes about Chris Heuer's Brain Jam last night in San Francisco. I just talked to Chris about this at my barbecue last weekend, who showed up with New York pal Greg Naraine.
Their event last night was called "Rent an Expert," and it was held at CNET's offices in SOMA. Says Tom of the format, "people turn up in a room and offer 15 minutes or 30 minutes of their expertise, for free. And if you offer something of value, and also find something of value, then its immediate karma."
So San Francisco and so great: Why Not? Women do this all the time at networking events, why not extend into a wider community? And its a great name!!
Their idea is centered around 'good karma.' "Help others and good things will come back to you three fold. Sharing your knowledge helps make the community as a whole stronger. We are not asking that you give away trade secrets - just share a few nuggets of your geniusness to make the lives of others a little bit easier. It might even generate a fan base."
