FeedBurner RSS Ad Network

I've been keeping tabs on Pamela Parker's articles lately. It's great that she's local, so one of these days, in all that free time, I'd love to grab her for lunch. Given the clients I represent and company I keep, she clearly writes about things that I care about and have a growing passion for.....

In her most recent column, she writes about FeedBurner's upcoming RSS ad network, which has been in the background for the past year. They also announced a deal with Houston Chronicle today.

According to ClickZ, FeedBurner will allow advertisers to buy ads in a variety of categories, including business, technology, current affairs, consumer electronics, entertainment and digital culture targets. And media in the new network include "the online properties of SmartMoney and IDG publications PC World, CIO, Computerworld and CMO. Blog networks Corante, Ars Technica and Gawker Media are also participating. Other publishers include Jeff Jarvis' BuzzMachine blog; the Daily Kos and Joshua Micah Marshall's Talking Points Memo and TPMCafe."

The business model? They plan to divide ad revenue with network members and the 'sale' is based on a CPM basis, somewhere between $4 to $7 per-thousand impressions.
