Lights, Camera, Action.....
I've spent a fair bit of time on sets -- whether they be movie, TV or news (CNN and the networks for various product and corporate stories over the years). I've never gone through the process of shooting a segment that actually had a 'planned and scripted' storyline however, so the recent Designing Spaces shoot in south Florida was a hoot.
The actors who do this gig on a regular basis don't get paid a helluva lot, but they do have a lot of fun, meet interesting people and gain valuable on-air experience. The story line is a little thin, but realistic. It weaves in the need for a lower cost surround sound system in a small living space, without the need to upgrade stereo speakers or cables. Enter client Xitel's solution.
The producer had a sense of humor and surprisingly read everything about the system, including the white paper. I was impressed.....a few fun shots taken from the shoot. The segment is slated to air sometime in November.
