First FREE Nationwide 411 Directory Assistance

DEMO hasn't even officially started yet and announcements are underway. More later today as companies start presenting on stage. There's even an 'official' blogger list this year, which is part of the broader press list.

Venture Voice is doing an interesting piece on 'what its like to present at Demo....' Let me extend that to 'what its like to be a start-up.' My clients are still up working and we have a very early start - need I say more.

Today, client Jingle Networks will launch the first nationwide FREE 411 directory assistance service here at DEMO. On our way to a group dinner tonight, while lost in the rain, I tried the service since no one had the phone number to the restaurant.

It was a flawless pleasant experience and for the first time, I wasn't charged, which can range anywhere from $1.50 to $3.49. It's amazing how many people don't realize how much they pay for directory assistance calls......

It's roughly a $8 billion dollar market based on about 6 billion calls per year. The 1-800-FREE411 service provides value for both consumers and businesses: consumers get free directory assistance, saving them $$$$ and businesses only pay when interested customers contact them via the phone by responding to special offers which they hear targeted to their specific lookup request.

According to the Kelsey Group, 71% of small businesses prefer to pay for leads via the telephone versus clicks to their Website. Jingle Networks has already signed on over 35,000 leading local and national merchants and service providers are already advertising on the service, including 1-800-FLOWERS, Rescue Rooter, Entertainment Book, ServiceMagic (an IAC/InterActiveCorp Company), Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Terminix and others.
