Chinese Remedies

I have always loved eastern philosopy and eastern thinking and over the past five years or so, have not only been intrigued by eastern medicine, but have dabbled in it. I take a ton of herbs and supplements, some of which are hard to find in stores so I order online, including the Super Greens that many have seen me walk around with at various conferences and events.

It's interesting (and disturbing) that the "healthier" you appear to be living, the "odder" people think you are and the more compelled they are to see you eat something deep fried or drink more alcohol.

Since I have not had a cold or flu bug in over five years, the post CES bug hit me pretty hard and even managed to strip my voice for two days. After 24 hours with some Chinese herbal remedies, my energy was restored.

They treat the source rather than the symptom, i.e., healing the spleen rather than the phlegm for example. It involved boiling herbs into a tea that included raw ginger and cinnamon bark.

What I continue to find amusing is the language. As I was reading up on the decoction to cure my congested head and sore throat, I came across an associated formula called "Six Gentlemen of Metal and Water Decoction," which is apparently also known and widely used for treating chronic bronchitis in the elderly.
