Saddam Trial Starts Next Week

In light of my day with the Iraqis and Spirit of America, reading BBC's article on Saddam's regime trials had a different meaning.

He's still at a US base near Baghdad until his trial for war crimes and violent acts against humanity start next week. Hmmmm, interesting timing of this announcement with the January elections around the corner.

This certainly deserves to be brought to justice....the lingering of the outcome is frustrating and disconcerting - I can't imagine what it must be like for the Iraqi people.

NPR also reports on the upcoming trial.
