The Charles at Sunset
The tears are starting to fall for this beautiful yet provincial academic city in the glorious Northeast. It's amazing how we only start to truly appreciate something or someone when we're close to losing it or saying goodbye. Mine started early.....I set aside the time to roam the streets, sit in coffee houses like I did in my early twenties, lay in a park with grass between my teeth and stare at the sky and take photographs of old buildings and people's characterful faces in the early morning.
Funny the things we think we'll miss when we leave a place and the things we actually do. I don't really know what's going to hit me and probably won't for months, but two immediate things come to mind...
the drives in October up Route 1 to Maine frolicking around in the leaves (that never gets old) and driving home at night along Storrow Drive.
